So, I wanted to show the development steps for my character Carthage. This villain is for my fighting game I am working on entitled Violent Souls. Carthage is one of the lead antagonists of the game. I love not only designing the characters, but i go all the way in. When i'm designing a character, often times I'll see the animation of a character before he's designed. That could be his idle pose or maybe even a specific behavior, posture or anything. For some reason it just works that way for me. Sometimes i'll see a face only. With this character I wanted to show some of the development steps. I was working full time in the animation industry and freelancing when I contracted the character modeler, animator and the EFX animator for the kit i put together to promote the game. I have a ton of animations and efx stuff i designed during that time period. Now that things have slowed down some, I'm concentrating on the redesigns of the characters. Carthage is the first one for this reimagining phase.
